Why My Hanger had chosen to set up the factory in Malaysia? First of all, the founder of My Hanger Holding Sdn. who was born in Kluang, Malaysia. He wanted to bring his mutual skill on wooden hanger back to the native land. Secondly was Malaysia having location advantage on the raw material supply, the sufficient supply is always concern to a manufacturing. In GDP of Malaysia, 12 percent is made up by agriculture sector, within these 12 percent 2.75 percent is contributed by rubber latex. Meanwhile, Malaysia is the 3rd of top 10 rubber producing countries in the world in year 2012, which is 92800 metric tonnes but drop to 4th, 82000 metric tonnes in year 2013. According to the data released by Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC), Malaysia natural supply has a dramatically drop of 100,000 metric tonnes from 2012 to 2013. The supply is always depending to the pricing, the price of natural rubber from 2012 RM2.70/kg drop to RM2.20/kg, and these can explained why the production of natural rubber decrease. Supply is always depending on the demand, if there is a high demand on rubber wood indirectly it will also increase the latex supply due to the replanting after the harvest of rubber wood therefore is a win-win strategy. The wood from rubber tree usually we named as rubber wood but it also called as Parawood or Asian oak and heavea brasiliensis as scientific name. Traditionally, after rubber tree served its purpose as latex producer it will be just simply burnt as fuel wood. Generally latex yields become extremely low after 26 to 30 years and the planters then fell the rubber trees and plant new ones. Relatively recently was discovered that the timber after being pressure treated before kiln drying was resistant to decay. So that Rubber wood is now often used for the manufacturing. Nowadays, most people are all talking about 3R, recycle, reused and reduce. To be socially responsible, we should also play our part. That is main reason we had chosen rubber wood as the raw material is because rubber wood is an eco-friendly wood. This wood is therefore eco-friendly in the sense that we are now using what was going as waste. Rubberwood is a renewable resource where can be extracted on a shorter cycle without endangering the environment. In additional, rubber wood have a high hardness rating which comparable with black walnut and teak but just a bit softer than oak or birch, which can up to 980 Newton so is also called as Asian oak. Besides, rubberwood have straight to shallowly interlocked or wavy grain which shows natural beauty of wood patterns. A type of hardwood with a slight yellowish appearance with open grain texture, rubberwood are previously used in small scale but the porpularity has increased overtime as it provide various advantages in term of cost effectiveness, eco-friendly and the availability. Nowadays, rubberwoods are much lighter in color, relatively straight grain with some cross grain near the branches. With good staining properties, rubberwood can be stained in any desirable colour dye. It is also easy to maintain and cleaning just the same methods that use to clean furniture made from any other wood. Every wooden furniture should be wipe with a solution of soap and water once a year, taking care to dry it thoroughly with a clean cloth. We produced wooden hanger in various designs and colours by using rubberwood. Why are we chosen Rubberwood? Rubberwood is one of the "environmentally friendly" wood, as it makes use of plantation trees that have already served a useful function. Another strong point of products which made from rubberwood are easy to maintain, resistance to mould and fungus. My Hanger is implemented strict quality management system to control the products quality and the moisture content percentage. We are monitoring and controlling the rubberwood hanger humidity which under moisture content of 12% whereby to prevent mouldy and distortion. Our raw material is 100% go through the chemical treatment to avoid fungus. Rubberwood is a moderately hard and ‘light to moderately heavy’ timber with density ranging from 435 to 626 kg/m3 at 12% moisture content. Rubberwood is in the middle high-end grade with middle price range too which is suitable for all social status. Besides, the rubberwood is coming in whitish yellow or pale cream when freshly cut and seasons to light straw or light brown with the straight grain which shows the beauty of the wood.
