We are devoted to the preservation and advancement of Mex

ico’s rich artisan heritage, and we embrace new mediums and languages for the ex*****on of each piece. We encourage diverse techniques, and, in our work, blend primitive roughness with pristine surfaces. We seek materials that appeal to the senses, and we collaborate with talented artisans to transform glass, wood, metal, textile, and stone, among other raw materials, into magnificent and original contemporary pieces of collectible design.

Behind the scenes of blowing a set of six Nebula bubbles, crafted in amber glass. Each of these floating modules was created using a recent technique explored by the studio known as caged glass—also referred to as encased or imprisoned glass—in which molten glass is blown into a metal structure. The expanding bubble finds its way through the openings of the rigid structure, which shape and direct its expression and form.

WIP for a custom project from our Altar collection, now reimagined as coffee tables.

Inspired by shrines and sacred spaces, these pieces invite ritual, reflection, and the careful appreciation of daily objects. Part of our SRO series, they celebrate the craft of stone while transforming functional furniture into sculptural altars for the home.

Estela installed at Pujol, a two-Michelin-star restaurant ranked among the world’s 50 best.

Estela is a sculptural lamp inspired by ancient Mexican stelae—monolithic stone pieces created by early pre-Hispanic civilizations to record their history. The lamp emits a soft, warm light, reminiscent of a torch glowing within a cave. Hand-carved from a single block of marble, its pristine exterior contrasts with the raw, unpolished interior, where the marks of the artisan’s tools remain visible.

In the south of Mexico City is located El Pedregal, an area distinguished by its abrupt lava gardens, product of the mythical explosion of the Xitle volcano.

The rich landscape, a consequence of the explosion that occurred more than 1,700 years ago, became a point of reference and inspiration for Luis Barragán. The Mexican architect developed the area in the late 1940s, combining the original geological formations with architecture inspired by the international style.

Using this as inspiration, EWE Studio creates its first large-scale installation. Six black marble monoliths are selected for their rawness and expression, which are grouped to form a circle in the lobby of the Pedre residential building.

There is a raw beauty in the creation of the ‘Unfinished’ vessels. During the hand-carving process, master stonemasons use different tools, leaving expressive traces engraved on the marble and embracing the accident in the process.

We seek to highlight these intentions by pausing arbitrarily during the fabrication of the pieces, giving a unique and unrepeatable character in all the vessels.
