Standing next to a monozero piece of furniture you somehow feel the effort, dedication and love that has gone into its creation and you are completely drawn into its beauty and cannot resist but touch it. And then you feel that the timber still has the life of the tree in it, preserved for many generations to come. Every element of monozero - the design, the feel, the finish and general aesthetics is consistent with the way we feel furniture should be: . Our designs do not follow short-lived trends and fashions, we try to give a timeless form to the product. All monozero pieces are built by hand, because we think that there is a special exchange of energy when a craftsman handles the wood, but still wherever advantageous, we also use traditional as well as modern power tools, some of them especially designed and tailor made for us. The responsibly harvested wood has a moisture content of 7% on the day we start crafting, which is about ideal to ensure a long and carefree use. That’s why we spare no time and effort to make it shine. We design and handcraft our products respecting the natural characteristics of wood, using no metal fasteners like bolts, screws or nails at all, but the strongest joints like dovetail, mortise and tenon, fingerjoint, miter… These are very time consuming and difficult to execute. Luckily we are in no hurry and take our time to do it right. To give a proper finish, we apply vegetable oils and natural waxes that are so clean we do it with bare hands, giving the surface a distinctive satin glow. This ensures that monozero products age with dignity and with time acquire a patina that will make it even more desirable.
