日々の暮らしに寄り添う家具や食器、カトラリー、オブジェなど、それぞれの作り手が木と向き合いながら生み出した多彩な作品が一堂に会します。
木目や色合い、手触りなど、自然素材ならではの豊かな表情と、使い込むほどに深まる味わいも木工の魅力のひとつです。
同じ素材を用いながらも、かたちや仕上げ、ものづくりへの思いは工房ごとにさまざま。
そこには、作り手それぞれの感性と、日々の手仕事から生まれる個性が息づいています。
沖縄の風土のなかで育まれた5つの木工房の仕事を通して、木のぬくもりと手仕事の魅力、そして暮らしのなかにある豊かさに触れていただければ幸いです。
A diverse collection of works created by five woodworking studios based in Okinawa comes together in thisexhibition, featuring furniture, tableware, cutlery, and objects that bring warmth and character to everyday life.
The beauty of wood lies not only in its natural grain, colors, and textures, but also in the richness it acquires over time through use.
Although they work with the same material, each studio approaches form, finish, and craftsmanship in its own way.
The individuality of each maker is reflected in every piece, shaped through daily practice and a deep dialogue with wood.
Through the work of these five studios, nurtured by the climate and culture of Okinawa, we hope visitors will discover the warmth of wood, the beauty of craftsmanship, and the quiet richness found in everyday life.
