[ 18th-19th Century Copper Jug ]
18-19世紀 銅製水差し
18世紀後半〜19世紀後半、ヨーロッパ製アンティーク。
銅板を重ねるオーバーラップ構造のロウ付け。接合部の色調変化は、本体と異なるロウ材（合金）露出の跡。産業革命以前の手仕事の証です。
緩やかな凹凸は成形・仕上げ時のハンマーワーク。鍛鉄ハンドルをリベット固定した異素材構造は、当時の耐久設計を示しています。
深い酸化皮膜は“時間の質感”としての魅力。素材・構造・使用痕が一体となり、実用品の歴史を静かに物語る一品です。
[19th Century Letter Rack ]
19世紀後半 レターラック
1880年代〜1910年頃製作のアンティーク。
真鍮板には手作業のエッチング（腐食彫刻）。伝統衣装でレースを編む老婦人と幾何学模様は、酸と熟練技術が融合した”エッチングされた静寂”を物語ります。
このモチーフと技法から、中世以来の伝統を遺すフランドル地方（ベルギー〜フランス北東部）製の可能性が非常に高い一品。
実用的な郵便受けでありつつ、壁面を飾る芸術品としての歴史と存在感を放つ一品です。
[18th–19th Century Copper Jug]
An antique from Europe, dating from the late 18th to the late 19th century.
The jug features an overlapping structure of copper sheets joined by soldering. The color variations at the joints reveal traces of the solder (an alloy) used, which differs from the body of the jug. This is evidence of the craftsmanship that preceded the Industrial Revolution.
The gentle undulations are the result of hammering during shaping and finishing. The combination of materials—with the wrought iron handle riveted in place—demonstrates the durable design principles of the era.
The deep patina adds to its charm as “The texture of time.” The material, construction, and signs of use come together as one, creating a piece that quietly tells the story of a utilitarian object’s history.
[ 19th Century Letter Rack ]
An antique piece crafted between the 1880s and around 1910.
The brass plate features hand-etched (corrosion-carved) designs. The elderly woman in traditional attire knitting lace, along with the geometric patterns,
convey a sense of etched Stillness born from the fusion of acid and skilled craftsmanship.
Given this motif and technique, it is highly likely that this piece was made in the Flanders region (Belgium to northeastern France), which has preserved traditions dating back to the Middle Ages.
While serving as a practical mailbox, this piece exudes a sense of history and presence as a work of art that adorns any wall.
