Why did we choose a mule as the symbol of Magis?
Because it’s humble,
it’s not conceited,
it doesn’t show off,
because it’s a tireless worker,
because it never gives up,
when it falls, it picks itself up,
because it doesn’t look for the easy way out,
because it loves a challenge,
because it’s innately, intensely curious and therefore continuously explores new paths.
Perfectly in line with the spirit of Magis, the mule is the metaphor for our way of doing things: moving forward with determination, embracing challenges and constantly exploring new possibilities.
Ten years ago, we asked Konstantin Grcic to give it a form, and the result was Ettore (Hector), like the great Homeric hero.
A cast-iron stylised mule, solid and enduring, whose weight itself speaks of effort, dignity and perseverance.
To celebrate our 50th anniversary, Ettore has now been reimagined in a special gold edition featuring a rosette. Without losing its essence, it becomes a tribute to a journey shaped by vision, research and creative freedom.
