Vaselli

Vaselli For others, Stone is a consequence, for us it’s the cause. Per altri la Pietra è una conseguenza Il nostro fare parte dalla materia, non vi approda.

We Vaselli connected with the stone of Rapolano over one hundred years ago, continuing an ancient tradition that dates
back to the Etruscans and which, over the centuries, has been used to clad the architecture of Tuscany and the world with splendid tonalities. Our technique has evolved and become more modern, but the passion has remained the same as that of the Stone Age, sedimented in our family

history. The material is the starting point for our way of doing, not that of arrival. For others, stone is a consequence, for us it’s the cause.

The free-standing washbasin is interpreted by architect Nicola Gallizia with the same principles of the collection and working by antithesis and creating an assembled solid piece.

The components of the washbasin are obtained from the same block and assembled in such a way as to create a practically solid stone piece. With this solution, beyond creating aesthetic continuity with the rest of the collection, it is possible to reduce the carved material to obtain the same sink depth.

In the Fidia washbasin, the joints between each piece become a constructive detail with a strong aesthetic connotation.

The Fidia island table wants to reverse the perspective by keeping the worktop at the classic 75 cm height of the dining table and taking the work height to 90 cm only for the sink and hob, thanks to the volumes emerging from the stone surface.

Fidia continues its voyage through furnishings and lands in the kitchen with the wall unit and the island.

Nicola Gallizia continues his research into the history and tradition of beauty with his choice of Rapolano Travertine stone. This choice seeks to pay tribute to Italian Architecture, which has used this stone as both a structural and a decorative element since Ancient Rome. As Fidia is entirely covered in this material, it maintains strong architectural connotations to become a small piece of monumental architecture in the home.

The designer's choice of this stone was not purely for aesthetic purposes, but because it represents something timeless. In a world where trends come and go, Fidia has been designed to last both physically and aesthetically.

Cora, stone bench.
This stone seat wants to recover the totemic value of an object around which human relations and commercial activities were born. The shape of the upper part is obtained by applying noise to the 3D model, which is then used by the 5-axis machine as a reference to rough-hew the pieces. The monolith is hand-finished by smoothing the sides and polishing the upper part.

Cora low table is a black monolith, an irregular-surface top with a wavy contour as if it has undergone erosion and the random modeling of atmospheric agents over thousands of years. It stands out for its pronounced sculptural, monumental appearance.
