Cinquecento anni fa, Michelangelo percorse la stessa strada.

Era il 1517 quando il grande maestro si avventurò sulle Apuane in cerca del marmo perfetto per la facciata di San Lorenzo. Trovò il 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐨 e ne rimase folgorato. Oggi, da quelle stesse cave, estraiamo ancora quel marmo straordinario: lo stesso bianco, la stessa purezza, la stessa luce. 🤍

🚛 Ma il viaggio non finisce in cava: ogni blocco percorre chilometri, attraversa i nostri laboratori e arriva nel nostro showroom di Querceta, dove architetti e designer da tutto il mondo vengono a scegliere la lastra che darà forma al loro prossimo progetto.

Five hundred years ago, Michelangelo walked this very same road.

It was 1517 when the great master ventured into the Apuan Alps in search of the perfect marble for the façade of San Lorenzo. He discovered 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐨 and was instantly captivated. Today, from those very same quarries, we still extract that extraordinary marble: the same whiteness, the same purity, the same light. 🤍

🚛 But the journey doesn’t end at the quarry: each block travels for miles, passes through our workshops, and arrives at our showroom in Querceta, where architects and designers from all over the world come to select the slab that will shape their next project.

Nei giorni scorsi abbiamo avuto il piacere di accogliere gli studenti della Facoltà di 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚 dell’Università degli Studi di Firenze partecipanti al seminario tematico “Dalla conoscenza alla diagnostica per il restauro e la conservazione del patrimonio architettonico storico e monumentale”, accompagnati dalla prof.ssa Maria Di Benedetto, docente di Restauro e Architettura.

🤝 Un prezioso spazio di 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨, 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐨 𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞 che coltiviamo con piacere da anni.

🏛️ Dalla visita alla nostra sede fino all’esperienza in cava, è stato bello accompagnarli alla scoperta della realtà 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐱 e del profondo legame che ci unisce al nostro territorio.

In recent days, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from the Faculty of 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 at the𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, taking part in the thematic seminar “From knowledge to diagnostics for the restoration and conservation of historical and monumental architectural heritage,” accompanied by Professor Maria Di Benedetto, lecturer in Restoration and Architecture.

🤝 A valuable space for 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠—one that we have been happily nurturing for years.

Sabbiato, levigato, lucidato o spazzolato?

La stessa lastra può cambiare completamente carattere a seconda della lavorazione.

✨ Ogni finitura modifica luce, texture e percezione del materiale:

• 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐨 → attenua i riflessi donando un look materico e vellutato, leggermente sbiancato.
• 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐨 → superficie liscia, dal fascino morbido ed elegante.
• 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐨 → esalta colore, profondità e venature creando una superficie brillante e riflettente.

L'opera di 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 per White Carrara

Tra i designer più influenti della scena internazionale, Ross Lovegrove firma per White Carrara "Flowing forms of discontinuity in life": un’opera che trasforma il marmo in una visione del futuro: una scultura biomorfica sospesa tra anatomia e forma organica che evoca tensione, trasformazione ed energia in movimento.

🪨 Realizzata nei nostri laboratori in 𝐁𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐨, l’opera sarà esposta a Carrara dal 5 giugno al 30 agosto, prima di entrare nella collezione di Henraux.

⏳ Scolpita nel marmo come traccia di un tempo nuovo, l’opera si inserisce in quella che Lovegrove definisce “l’archeologia del futuro”: una memoria contemporanea destinata alle generazioni future.

Ma cos'è White Carrara?

Una mostra urbana a cielo aperto che quest’anno celebra la sua decima edizione con il tema "Design Lives in the City": oltre 30 opere firmate da designer internazionali, realizzate con tecnologie d’avanguardia dalle aziende del territorio.

𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞’s Work for White Carrara

Among the most influential designers on the international scene, Ross Lovegrove presents "Flowing Forms of Discontinuity in Life" for White Carrara—an artwork that transforms marble into a vision of the future. This biomorphic sculpture, suspended between anatomy and organic form, evokes tension, transformation, and energy in motion.

🪨 Crafted in our workshops with 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐥𝐞 sourced from Henraux’s Cervaiole quarry, the piece will be on display in Carrara from June 5 to August 30, before becoming part of the Henraux Collection.

⏳ Carved into marble as the imprint of a new era, the work embodies what Lovegrove describes as the “archaeology of the future”: a contemporary memory created for future generations.

But what is White Carrara?

An open-air urban exhibition that this year celebrates its 10th edition under the theme "Design Lives in the City". The event features more than 30 works by internationally renowned designers, brought to life using cutting-edge technologies by local companies.

Fondata nel 529 da San Benedetto da Norcia, l’Abbazia è uno dei monasteri più importanti d’Europa. Un luogo simbolo, rinato più volte nel corso dei secoli dopo invasioni, terremoti e le devastazioni della Seconda Guerra Mondiale.
