I colori sono mappe silenziose. Attraversano le nostre giornate, evocano ricordi e, quasi senza che ce ne accorgiamo, ci guidano verso le scelte più intime della nostra vita.

L'artista sceglie questo frammento perché il dialogo tra figura, panneggio e serpente si presta a essere tradotto attraverso tecniche alternative per la realizzazione di tappeti.

The design for Nevertheless She Persisted III: Hygeia with Snakes by Marylin Pappas is based on a fabric relief dedicated to Hygeia, the goddess of health, reinterpreted in her original colours and featuring her symbol of healing. The artist chose this fragment because the interplay between the figure, the drapery and the snake lends itself to being rendered using alternative carpet-weaving techniques.

Ogni filato porta con sé una storia fatta di attenzione, responsabilità e sapere custodito: dal benessere degli animali ai pascoli, fino ai processi di lavorazione, ogni passaggio è seguito con sensibilità e consapevolezza.

The carpet is transformed into a space of memory, community and belonging.Inspired by traditional African hairstyles and their profound cultural and spiritual value, it was born as a work of celebration of femininity and the ancestral transmission of knowledge.
It becomes a place of meeting and sharing, evoking the intimacy of hair salons and homes, where the simple act of braiding hair is transformed into an act of meditation, care, and sisterhood.
A work that intertwines art, identity and matter, giving shape to a sculptural and deeply emotional presence.
