HOW TO GET THERE By plane: Airport of Florence-Peretola, then bus to Santa Maria Novella railway station (read below) or Airport of Pisa-Galileo Galilei then train to Santa Maria Novella railway station (read below). By train: Santa Maria Novella railway station, then bus line D (departure from the square in front of the ticket office), get off at Piazza Pitti. From here walk down Via Guicciardini until the beginning of the Ponte Vecchio, and before crossing it, turn right into Borgo San Jacopo. If you do not have heavy luggage you can also walk from the railway station to apartment (just 1300 meters). The walk is very pleasant, because you will pass through a beautiful part of the ancient Florence. In this case, please follow Google directions. By car: from the North: Motorway A1, exit Firenze Nord, then please follow Google directions. from the south: motorway A1, exit Firenze Sud, please follow Google directions.

The area, known as Oltrarno, is very lively and full of good restaurants, bars and shops. Florence and Pisa airports are easily connected by bus (Florence) and trains (Pisa) to Santa Maria Novella railway station, which is just 1,5 km from the apartment. YOU DON'T NEED A CAR IN FLORENCE. In case you are travelling by car please note that all the historic centre of Florence has limited car circulation, that means that you are supposed to park your car in a garage (to be paid in the spot), In front of my house there is a big private garage (Garage Lungarno), but it has to be booked in advance.
