In 2013, Cerantola SPA founds Colos with the ambition to conceive and develop affordable and quality products, tracing the heritage of Italian know-how up to the industrial landscape of the 21st century. Colos produces furniture for catering, home and public spaces. All projects by Colos emerge from the opportunity given to young designers from various nations to encounter the world of Italian ind

ustry. This encounter between the designers’ esthetic and functional research and the company’s great industrial experience leads to solid and elegant products which are developed within an optimized production process. The manufacturing is exclusively carried out in the company factories in Loria, Italy. In doing so, Colos can ensure the quality of its products and of the working conditions of its personnel. Ethical, durable and affordable: this is what a Colos product is to us.

🇺🇸 A product designed to last does not require every new need to begin from zero.

One shell can meet different structures: four legs, a sled base, a swivel frame with or without castors, or wood.

The configuration changes with the space.
The formal identity remains.

The system can also be disassembled when a component needs to be replaced, extending the usefulness of the whole.

Durability is the ability to adapt without discarding what already works.

🇮🇹 Un prodotto progettato per durare non richiede di ripartire da zero ogni volta che nasce una nuova esigenza.

Un’unica scocca può incontrare strutture differenti: quattro gambe, base a slitta, struttura girevole con o senza ruote oppure in legno.

L’identità formale rimane.

Il sistema può inoltre essere disassemblato quando un componente deve essere sostituito, prolungando l’utilità dell’insieme.

Light moves across the surfaces, shadows lengthen and the outdoor space changes from one hour to the next.

La luce scorre sulle superfici, le ombre si allungano e l’ambiente outdoor cambia da un’ora all’altra.

Around a restaurant table, in a shared workspace, on a terrace or in a hospitality setting, the same chair responds without losing its identity.

Adaptability is the visible result.

Behind it remains a coherent balance of proportion, function and material.

Attorno al tavolo di un ristorante, in uno spazio condiviso, su una terrazza o in un ambiente hospitality, la stessa seduta risponde senza perdere la propria identità.

🇺🇸 A space is not truly flexible until it can change quickly.

When the room needs to be cleared, the chairs can be moved and stacked neatly, reducing their footprint and simplifying everyday management.

The product disappears from the room, but the design keeps working.
Stacking is not only about storage.

It means giving possibilities back to the space.

🇮🇹 Uno spazio non è davvero flessibile finché non può cambiare rapidamente.

Quando serve liberare l’ambiente, le sedute si spostano e si impilano con ordine, riducendo l’ingombro e semplificando la gestione quotidiana.

Il prodotto scompare dalla sala, ma il progetto continua a lavorare.
Impilare non significa soltanto contenere.

Significa restituire possibilità allo spazio.

🇺🇸 At first, there is only matter.
The project does not add complexity. It removes excess, gives every part a function and guides the material towards a precise form.

One material.
One coherent structure.
No unnecessary element.

Before the chair can free the space, the project frees the chair from everything it does not need.
What remains is ready to move, stack and be used again.

Il progetto non aggiunge complessità. Elimina l’eccesso, assegna una funzione a ogni parte e guida il materiale verso una forma precisa.

Prima che la seduta possa liberare lo spazio, il progetto libera la seduta da tutto ciò che non serve.

🇺🇸 A space is truly flexible when changing it feels simple.

Chairs move, change position and stack with ease, allowing the same environment to welcome different activities throughout the day.

Their value is visible when they are needed and even more when they are not: the floor is cleared, the footprint is reduced and the next configuration becomes easier.

When they disappear, the project keeps working.

🇮🇹 Uno spazio è davvero flessibile quando trasformarlo diventa semplice.

Le sedute si spostano, cambiano posizione e si impilano con facilità, permettendo allo stesso ambiente di accogliere attività diverse durante la giornata.

Il loro valore è visibile quando servono e ancora di più quando non servono: il pavimento si libera, l’ingombro si riduce e la configurazione successiva diventa più semplice.

Quando scompaiono, il progetto continua a funzionare.

Tutto inizia dall’equilibrio tra peso, materia e resistenza: decisioni progettuali pensate per rendere naturale ogni movimento.

L’alluminio riciclato dà forma a una struttura leggera da spostare, durevole nell’utilizzo quotidiano e adatta agli spazi indoor e outdoor.

Curve, connessioni e proporzioni lavorano insieme silenziosamente.

It begins with the balance between weight, material and resistance: decisions designed to make every movement feel natural.

🇺🇸 To give space back, design first removes what is unnecessary.

Material, weight, resistance and stackability are not separate qualities. They are parts of the same balance.

A monomaterial structure uses only what is needed: enough to withstand everyday use while remaining light, easy to move and simple to stack.

Nothing is excessive.
Nothing is missing.

The less the product demands, the more freedom it gives the space.

🇮🇹 Per restituire spazio, il progetto elimina prima di tutto ciò che non serve.

Materiale, peso, resistenza e impilabilità non sono qualità separate. Sono parti dello stesso equilibrio.

Una struttura monomateriale utilizza soltanto ciò che è necessario: abbastanza per sostenere l’utilizzo quotidiano, mantenendosi leggera, facile da spostare e semplice da impilare.

Niente è eccessivo.
Niente manca.

Meno il prodotto richiede, maggiore è la libertà che restituisce allo spazio.

🇺🇸 Different materials, different atmospheres, different ways of inhabiting space.
Re-al and Villa explore two complementary approaches to outdoor living: one shaped through recycled aluminium and essential lines, the other through warmer and more traditional proportions.
Placed together, they create a dialogue between contrast, balance and material expression.

🇮🇹 Materiali diversi, atmosfere diverse, modi differenti di vivere lo spazio.
Re-al e Villa raccontano due approcci complementari all’outdoor: uno costruito attraverso alluminio riciclato e linee essenziali, l’altro attraverso proporzioni più calde e tradizionali.
Insieme, creano un dialogo fatto di contrasti, equilibrio ed espressione materica.
