It takes skill, passion and dedication to extract an object from a block of stone.
150 years of family history devoted to the shaping of marble, near Verona in Italy, led us to the
extraordinary adventure of Marsotto edizioni. And when the adventure becomes an even bolder
enterprise, one needs to choose very carefully the people you will be travelling with. Under the expert art direction of James
Irvine, with an outstanding team of designers and the
capabilities of our craftsmen, we have started to realise our dream: to make everyday objects
exclusively from Carrara marble. Exclusively Italian white stone. Timeless objects, to be passed
down from generation to generation. Marsotto edizioni made its first appearance in 2009, with a series of multifunctional pieces,
designed to support and contain. The collection widened during the two following years
including, in 2011, a variety of small, sometimes ironic, versatile elements. Each one with its
own character, yet part of a unique stylistic language. And the adventure continued with the 2012 collection. Large, handsome. The table as a social hub has always been part of Marsotto’s history. Therefore it was
particularly worth paying homage to the old stone mill, reintroducing in a different contemporary
mood that object around which are performed so many daily gestures of relationships, sharing
and affection. All the products of this story convey a feel of modernity, showing deep respect towards tradition
and that luxury gathered from nature, which our craftsmen are able to preserve and enhance,
working on every new project with great skill and devotion.
