Expandpouf is the next step in the evolution of the pouf chair – the world’s first to feature a “memory” so that it provides “active” performance. Manufactured using a single material, DuPont’s Spandex, a synthetic microfiber known for its extraordinary capacity for elasticity and incredible strength, the fabric is made from a single continuous elastane fiber that can be stretch
ed 5 to 7 times its original length and then snaps back into place with minimal warping. Thanks to its elasticity, Expandpouf can be pulled in all directions while maintaining uniform shape. That’s why we call it the “active pouf with memory”: When you move your head, back, or any other part of your body, the pouf actively responds, filling in the space created, while conforming to the body’s contours. To further enhance elasticity and comfort, we have completely eliminated the outer zipper. The central core is pressure-filled using a special technique we have developed. Leaving nothing to chance, we have developed an outside cover – a “skin” that is not only washable but easily changed to a different color, and as often as you like. This easy and unique feature is made possible by the material’s “active” elasticity, always leaving the central core pristine. Many colors are available, including silver and gold. Expandpouf has a contemporary, minimalist and futuristic design. Its beauty is second only to its comfort because it is the fusion of years of experience and creativity. In fact, this product is such a major innovation that without any hesitation, we describe Expandpouf as a milestone in “Active Sitting” The inventor, Alessandro Comerlati, got inspired by other cultures during his numerous journeys as windsurfer. He became creative active and produced his first clothes design in 2007, followed by an outdoor seat cushion launched in 2009.
