ADC reviews LPG distribution mechanism in Udhampur

Stresses transparency, timely supply and consumer facilitation

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 04: Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Prem Singh, today chaired a meeting with LPG distributors operating across the district to review the stock position and assess the effectiveness of the existing LPG distribution mechanism.

The ADC directed all LPG distributors to strictly adhere to the prescribed supply schedule and ensure compliance with the established guidelines. He highlighted the importance of consumer convenience and urged LPG consumers to complete their e-KYC formalities at the earliest to ensure uninterrupted access to LPG services.

He underscored the need for a fair, transparent and efficient distribution system to ensure that LPG supplies reach consumers in a timely and equitable manner across all areas of the district. He further directed the concerned department to maintain strict vigilance at the field level and closely monitor the functioning of distribution agencies to prevent irregularities and ensure smooth and equitable distribution of LPG throughout the district.

Two-day table tennis championship concludes under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 04: The two-day Table Tennis Championship organised by the J&K Sports Council in collaboration with the District Table Tennis Association, Udhampur under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, an initiative of the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, concluded today at the Indoor Hall, Subash Stadium, Udhampur.

With participation of around 120 players across various categories, the event aimed to promote sports among the youth and to raise awareness about a drug-free society through healthy recreational activities.

The Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Jugal Anand, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. Addressing the participants, he appreciated the efforts of the organisers and encouraged young players to take up sports as a means of personal development and social responsibility.

The District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Udhampur, Tarseem Singh, attended as the guest of honour and congratulated all participants for their dedication and performance throughout the championship.

Among those present were the Manager, Subash Stadium, Udhampur, Suraj Bhan; the General Secretary, Udhampur Table Tennis Association (UTTA), Tarun; the Treasurer, UTTA, Priksh*t Khajuria; the Treasurer, JKCA, Rajan Slathia and Jatin Sethi.

Maninder Singh and Sahil Malgotra officiated the matches, ensuring the smooth conduct of the tournament.

The organisers thanked all players, officials, guests and supporters for making the championship a success. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners and participants.

DC Udhampur felicitates winners of competitions under Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 04: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa today felicitated the winners of painting, essay writing and logo design competitions organised under the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Udhampur.

The programme was attended by District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta, Chief Education Officer Subash Gupta and DIO NIC Anish Sharma, besides students and staff from various educational institutions.

As part of the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, painting, essay writing and logo design competitions were conducted across the district to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage student participation in the anti-drug campaign.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the winners and all participants for their involvement. He sensitised students about the objectives of the campaign launched by the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor and highlighted the need for collective action to combat substance abuse. He urged everyone to actively spread awareness about the consequences of drug addiction and emphasised the role of schools and educational institutions in fostering a drug-free environment.

The Deputy Commissioner distributed certificates among the winners and participants in recognition of their contributions towards promoting a drug-free society.
