Throwback Thursday: Going way back to 1875, when "Les raboteurs de parquet" (English title: The Floor Scrapers), the most famous painting featuring wood flooring, was created by French Impressionist Gustave Caillebotte. It was rejected by France's most prestigious art exhibition, the Salon, because the depiction of working-class people in their trade, not fully clothed, shocked the jurors and was deemed a "vulgar subject matter."
