A Legacy in the Making
​This is a home for clients who deeply value heritage, global craftsmanship, and storytelling. Their love for antiques, travel-collected artifacts, and South Indian culture forms a tapestry that feels both rooted and cosmopolitan. Remarkably, the entire project was completed within nine months, fuelled by a shared passion for authenticity, design history, and the idea of creating an heirloom for future generations.
​Coromandel Court is the definition of Heirloom Modernism, where heritage is not preserved behind glass, but lived, felt, and carried forward.

Coromandel Court: A South Indian Heirloom for a Global Family

​Coromandel Court, a sprawling 12,000-square-foot residence in Bangalore, stands as a testament to the lives of its owners, one of our favourite clients. Two C suite executives of billion dollar companies. Together, they envisioned a home that reflects their South Indian heritage while embracing the European influences absorbed through a lifetime of travel—a true reflection of modern India: rooted, worldly, and richly layered.

A sunken conversation pit, the balcony with a wooden swing, temple-like coffered ceilings in the pooja room, the stone and brass that anchor it in a distinctly southern design language. Coromandel Court in Bengaluru, designed by Temple Town .town is rooted in the idea of a home that preserves culture and breathes life into them.

The foyer with its semi-precious stone inlay empties into a double-height living room where a sunken conversation pit ties the whole space together. It’s hemmed by a deep green panelled wall with a desk that emits academia, a formal living area perched with a blue sofa and finally the dining area across that brings a rather royal touch to every meal devoured. There’s cultural fluency in the form of Kalighat and Pichwai paintings that sprawl around the home alongside artefacts gathered from across the country. The owners’ belief in passing down their inheritance stands strong within this home. The Dravidian architecture especially comes to life in the pooja room that hoists itself with a coffered red ceiling and a brass-lit marble altar creating a space reminiscent of a typical temple that you’ve seen before. The bedrooms feature four-poster beds, warm wooden ceilings with exposed beams and iconic artworks like Raja Ravi Verma’s Radha in the Moonlight that are integrated into its design. The children’s room is inspired by Channapatna toys, threaded through brass elements and a bright colour palette. The guest bedroom with its Chennai-inspired embroidery, carries its own identity. And then there are the in-between spaces: the theatre room wrapped in deep greens and browns, and the verandah with a wooden swing and a hand-drawn mural. Coromandel Court is doused in culture at every nook and sustains the otherwise inevitably forgotten details of its owners’ lives.
