Call it ‘Laakheni Panchami’, ‘Gyan Panchami’, or ‘Saubhaagya Panchami’, these are just other names for Labh Pancham which falls on fifth day of Kartik month Shukla Paksh according to Hindu calendar. This day is also considered the first day of Gujarati New Year and it marks the end of the Diwali celebrations.

As the word ‘Labh’ itself suggests, this is the day which brings felicity, fortune, happiness and prosperity on both, personal as well as professional level.

National Unity Day is celebrated in India on 31 October. It was introduced by the Government of India in 2014. The day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

The official statement for National Unity Day by the Home Ministry of India cites that the National Unity Day "will provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country."
