From Dark Wenge to Vintage Elegance 🤍♻️

This crockery unit belonged to one of our repeat customers. There is something truly special about working for a repeat client. It means they trust your vision — and that means everything.

Earlier, it had a heavy dark wenge wooden finish. While sturdy and functional, it made the space look darker and visually bulky.

So here’s what we did —

✨ Transformed it into a soft brown-white distressed finish

✨ Added beautiful teal highlights along the edges for a subtle pop of colour

✨ Enhanced the detailing with delicate stencil work to elevate the entire look

The distressed texture now adds warmth and a vintage charm, while the teal edging beautifully frames the structure and brings freshness to the piece.

What was once dark and plain…
is now light, artistic, and full of personality.

That’s the beauty of upcycling —
Not replacing furniture, but reinventing it.

From Basic Storage Box to a Statement Seating Unit ✨

Every home has that one practical piece… useful, but unnoticed.

This storage-cum-seating unit was simple and plain. Functional, yes — but lacking character.

So it came to The Upcycling Studio.

We reimagined the entire look by adding rattan cane detailing against ply in the window panels and highlighting them with a rich red finish. The contrast green added extra character and the traditional designing brought warmth and personality to it.

Now, it beautifully serves a dual purpose —
✔️ Comfortable seating
✔️ Smart hidden storage

And we’re envisioning it with a bold red cushion cover to complete the look.

What was once basic is now vibrant, artistic, and full of charm.

♻️ Upcycling is not just about repainting.
It’s about redesigning with intention and giving furniture a renewed identity.

From a Bulky Study Table to a Cheerful Bookshelf 🌈📚

Sometimes, furniture doesn’t need replacement — it just needs a new direction.

This piece earlier started its life as a Pepperfry study table. Well made, sturdy… but it was occupying too much space in the house and no longer serving the client’s needs

We reimagined the table vertically and transformed it into a space-saving bookshelf, giving it a bright, colourful vibe that instantly lifts the room. Each shelf was finished in a different colour with delicate hand-done motifs, while the drawers were refreshed with playful stripes and minimal hardware.

What was once bulky is now light, functional, and full of character — perfect for books, décor, and everyday essentials

When a client comes back to you again, you know you’re doing something right.

These shoe racks had been serving our repeat client for years. Functional, sturdy… but visibly tired and outdated. Replacing them was an option — but upcycling was the smarter, more meaningful choice.

So they came to The Upcycling Studio.

We carried out complete restoration work and transformed them with a deep blue finish, enhanced with hand-done white detailing to add character and contrast. Clean lines, subtle patterns, and a refreshed structure gave these racks a modern yet timeless appeal — perfectly suited for their home.

What was once ordinary storage is now a stylish, well-integrated part of the space.

An Old Mandir, Renewed with Grace ✨

Some pieces in a home are not just furniture — they are sacred, holding years of faith, prayers, and quiet moments.

This mandir had been a part of our client’s home for many years. With time, it had aged and lost its charm, but replacing it was never an option. What it needed was a thoughtful revival.

We carefully restored the mandir and gave it a fresh, rich look using a teal distressed finish, paired with elegant golden detailing to enhance its traditional beauty. Brass bells were installed to bring back the soulful temple feel, and a soft LED light was added to create a calm, divine glow.

Today, the mandir sits gracefully, blending beautifully into the home while continuing to be a serene space for daily prayers

These three metal cupboards had been with their owners for over 30 years. When they shifted from Delhi to Pune, they wanted their new home to feel warm and familiar…

Replacing them was easy.

We did complete restoration work on these old metal cupboards and transforming their cold metal surface into a rich wooden texture finish.

A Center Table That Found Its Place Again

Every home has that one piece that has seen years of memories… and deserves a second life.

Our client recently renovated her living room and wanted this old, heavy glass-top center table to blend beautifully into her brand-new space — not look like a leftover from the past.

So she brought it to The Upcycling Studio.
And from there… the transformation began.

We removed the bulky glass top, reimagined the entire structure, and gave it a fresh personality with a soft, elegant colour palette. The hand-done detailing on the borders and corners adds just the right amount of character without overwhelming the design.

What was once a dark, dated table is now a light, artistic, and harmonious piece that complements her new interior beautifully.

A few years ago, she had collaborated with us on one of her projects… and this time, she returned to transform a piece for her new home.

We took her old dark wooden table and reimagined it into a soft, rustic, and textured beauty — layered with subtle pastel tones, floral patterns, and intricate designs that echo her artistic spirit. This bed and side table set was given a complete new life with a soft textured finish in pink and white shading. Beautifully highlighted it with handcrafted mandala motifs. The look is calm, earthy, and full of elegance.
