Made on request, this chair brought us back to a way of working we deeply value.

The cane isn’t pre-woven or applied from a roll. It is woven directly onto the frame, strand by strand, by hand.

There is a certain honesty in this process. A rhythm that machines don’t replicate. A strength that comes from time, not shortcuts.

Woven directly into the wood by skilled hands, cane pattern is built slowly, with precision and patience.

Over the years, convenience took over. Pre-woven sheets replaced this process. Faster, easier, more scalable.

But somewhere along the way, we began to lose the makers.

Many of the artisans we worked with years ago are no longer able to continue. And fewer hands are learning what they once knew so well.

This chair became more than a commission. It became a reminder of a craft and the people behind it.
