Two years ago, we started on a furniture experiment in the HIghlight office, introducing hand made furniture in reclaimed and old teak, largely speaking the Mid Century language, but reinterpreted with whimsical and eclectic additions to make each piece personal to the buyer. In the course of the two years, we learnt that visitors were surprised - pleasantly - to walk into place that was easygoing
, looked and felt different from any other and was a happy place to discover various forms of art, think out of the box in the context of design and meet interesting people. The experiment has propelled us to take the next step and evolve into a brand that will have its own identity and stand for everything we inspired at Highlight Living. BARO is a shop that primarily sells furniture and furnishing. BARO will also stock hand made carpets from Africa and Asia, special old textiles, bespoke bed linen, assorted cushions, bed and table dressing, and folk and tribal art from around India. BARO also hopes to be a space for like minded people who look for individual expression, for inspiration from things both near and far, who aren’t in the “me-too” mould and who are interested in beauty and design in every aspect of life.
