8 Steps of Plywood Manufacturing
1. Logging: Trees are felled, trimmed, and transported to the processing facility.
2. Debarking: The bark is removed from logs using specialized debarking machines.
3. Peeling: Logs are cut into thin veneers using rotary lathes or peelers.
4. Drying: Veneers are dried in kilns or industrial dryers to reduce moisture content.
5. Gluing & Assembling: Adhesive is applied to veneers, which are stacked in alternating grain directions.
6. Pressing: Veneer layers are bonded using high heat and pressure in a hydraulic press.
7. Trimming & Sanding: The pressed plywood is trimmed to size and sanded for a smooth finish.
8. Inspection & Packaging: Finished plywood is inspected for quality, then packaged and prepared for shipment.
This streamlined process ensures durable, high-quality plywood for various applications.
