Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in India. According to the Hindu calendar this religious festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksh or the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadon.

Sri Krishna is considered as the one of the most powerful human incarnations of the Lord Vishnu. He was born around 5,200 years ago in Mathura. The sole objective of Sri Krishna's birth was to free the Earth from the evilness of demons. He played an important role in Mahabharata and propagated the theory of bhakti and good karma which are narrated deeply in the Bhagwat Geeta.

Sri Krishna was born in a prison in the custody of Kansa. Vasudev, His father immediately thought of his friend Nand and decided to hand over his child to him to save Krishna from the clutch of Kansa. Krishna grew up in Gokul and finally killed his uncle, King Kansa.

The actual celebration of Janmashtami takes place during the midnight as Sri Krishna is believed to be borned on a dark, stormy and windy night to end the rule and violence of his uncle, Kansa. All over India this day is celebrated with devotional songs and dances, pujas, arti, blowing of the Conch and rocking the cradle of baby Sri Krishna.

The Indian state, Kerala is facing a huge flood for over one month that has affected over 700,000 people leaving around 400 dead and hundreds missing. Houses have been waterlogged and destroyed, leaving the residents displaced and forced to take refuge in relief camps. Unfortunately, hundreds have been marooned in their own houses, without food, water, electricity, and other basic supplies.

Team appeals to all the people around the world to extend a helping hand and donate generously to the "Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund" (CMDRF) to help the flood-affected people of Kerala.

There are several things to donate especially food, water & clothes. We are also collecting all the relief materials & used/unused furniture. For more details you can also DM us.

We as Indians very well realize the importance of Independence Day and should be filled with utmost pride to have finally won back our freedom from the shackles of British rule. It gives me a sense of immense joy which is indescribable in words when I see our national flag soaring in the wind high up. I am sure you can relate with my emotions. I am sure we all can gauge that gaining independence under such challenging situation was not an easy task, but required long and persistent efforts.
We should salute those heroic spirits and pay our homage to them by remembering their brave deeds and sacrifice for our mother land and never forget that it is because of their efforts that we stand today and breathe in an Independent India. Even though we do not bear witness to those times, but we can understand very well the intensity of that crucial time when our country actually gained independence. We cannot help but feel proud of it.
In the end, all that can be said is freedom is priceless and our soldiers are so brave that they are continuously fighting on borders in order to protect our country from any militant or terrorist group. So we should never fail to value this freedom and preserve it wholeheartedly.

“God says: ‘I am to my servant as he expects of Me. I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his heart, I remember him to Myself, and if he remembers me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly better than his, and if he draws nearer to Me a hand’s span, I draw nearer to him an arm’s length, and if he draws nearer to Me an arm’s length, I draw nearer to him a fathom length, and if he comes to me walking, I rush to him at (great) speed.” (Bukhari and Muslim) This is really an amazing hadith. First, you should expect the best of your Lord. Please understand that Allah is extremely merciful and compassionate. Unfortunately a lot of Muslims don’t understand this with their hearts. But consider this hadith: Umar ibn Al-Khattab reported: Some prisoners of war were brought in front of the Prophet (pbuh), and a woman was among them who was breast-feeding. Whenever she found a child among the prisoners, she would take it to her chest and nurse it. The Prophet said to us, “Do you think this woman could throw her child in the fire?” We said, “No, not if she is able to stop it.” He said, “Allah is more merciful to His servants than a mother is to her child” (recorded in Bukhari, Book 73, Number 28).

We The Maker’s Point are making our own promise for the planet earth. We aim to engage as many people as possible, showing that the event is more than just switching off the lights: if we are to make an impact on climate change we will need to look at every part our lifestyles. Our message is that if we all do something, together we can make a big difference. By making promises about what we can do ourselves, it forces us to consider our own impact on the environment and our own responsibility. We hope to raise awareness of both Earth Hour itself and the WWF aims and values. We want to do our bit in helping save the planet and show the guides that you do not need to use so much electricity.
