For a cricket crazy nation the almost two month long period that knocks once in every 4 years should possibly be the craziest period. Yes we are talking about the Cricket World Cup. While Test supremacy is definitely of paramount importance, the World Cup ever since it's inception in 1975 holds a very significant place in the hearts of cricket lovers.
Being in a World cup team, let alone a winning team is possibly the number 1 in the wishlist of many a cricketer. And it is not often that you get to be the defending champions of this prestigious tournament. The young Indian team gears to do this enviable job. For the first time in more than two decades India is entering the World Cup without the 'MAN' who is often referred to as the GOD of the game.
With a young team on board we as fans will hope for a repeat of the 2007 T20 championship that came as a pleasant surprise after that heartbreaking ODI World cup earlier the same year.
