Joke or Fact of the Day:
Today, a customer from Europe came into our factory shop in Delhi asking for block print fabrics.
We shared our prices, which depend on the quantity for wholesale.
But when they heard, they said,
Oh, sorry, that’s too expensive!
We’re looking for something around 150 rupees a meter (about $1.60).
We explained that, at that price, you only get low-quality cotton, often with harmful dyes.
Many cheap block prints use harsh chemicals that can harm the environment and even pose health risks.
Their response?
It’s okay; we don’t care what our customers buy. We just want something cheap to sell.
So, here’s a tip for everyone:
Support quality and ask for the producer.
Be mindful of the fabrics you choose to wear.
Cheap block prints might look good, but quality and safety should come first.
Support quality over cheap compromises.
