stores from Europe including some renowned luxury brands like Tura, Chelini Spa, Cantiero, Sigma L2,Gyform srl, and Rifra. Nomita has shown prudent foresight from the time she ventured into the interior space by being a pioneer in custom-‐built modular kitchens in India. She started her design career with MKD Holdings, a London-‐based leading interior design company. Her long-‐standing professional association with the forerunners in Indian interiors and academic excellence from Delhi Polytechnic were building blocks in materializing the design inheritance and inspiration she got from her mother, who has been a qualified interior designer but never practiced design as a career. From homes of CEO’s to those of sports personalities like golfer Arjun Atwal, Nomita brings the design psyche of her client to life by not only reflecting her client’s attitude but also replicating the flavors he or she perceives for a perfect home. Focusing on an extensive client interaction model to evolve her client’s style, persona, temperament, and charisma, she relentlessly visits her drawing board till she is convinced to correctly fit the space. She is loved, retained, and recommended by each of her clients as she exudes the faith of the client creating the design by building the space accordingly. Research and development is Nomita’s true companion and inspiration. While still a firm believer in the traditional school of methodologies for timber processing and maintaining exclusivity in embellishments, she likes to incorporate modern, information technology-‐ enabled tools for efficient client servicing aspect of the experience. Both her creative and craftsmen teams understand the various design nuances, delivering a bespoke portrayal of the client’s self-‐created masterpiece of any size and scope, with a unique blend of comfort and elegance. Nomita’s core expertise in her last 25 years of experience has evolved from space analysis to space planning and creation of design to construction of ideas, resulting in an exceptional ability to marry the right solution with immaculate attention to detail. She endeavors to create couture living, where style is an expression of one’s individualism. Nomita handholds her clients in making this possible with ease and without any stress. Nomita believes that it is the designer’s edge to correctly read the client’s mind and transform a vision into a design statement within the gamut of classical, contemporary, neo-‐classical and eclectic styles. The India design sentiment at present is inspired largely by Bauhaus, Art Décor and Baroque styles. Color trends are mostly followed from international forecasts but value additions in designs are interwoven to reflect the country’s festivities and also suit utilitarian needs, thus raising demand for the fusion or neoclassical genre. Nomita is guided by her progressive foresight to keep the designs fresh through changing seasons and trends for many years with few modifications in between. She conceptualizes the entire ambience while designing the house, from architectural interiors including Boiserie, door and window designs, tiling, ceiling treatments and flooring, to wall finishes, lighting, soft furnishings and window treatments. She believes in integrating interior designing at the architectural stage itself, and incorporates the modern concept of green and eco-‐friendly living in her designs. With an increase in awareness of international styles through media and travel, the Indian design market has seen a shift in demand from locally recreated pieces to original imports. The changing market, along with an inherent sense of appreciation for such design led Nomita to tie up with more than 20 universally recognized, niche European players in interiors to market their products in India. Wisma Atria International will showcase a library of sample products and catalogues from these companies, available mainly for architects and interior designers looking to purchase luxury brand products for their clients. A respected businesswoman by identity, a devoted mother of two growing children, a recognized basket ball player by spirit, and a well-‐known interior designer by profession and passion, Nomita loves to define the art of couture living.
