When an old fabric is transformed into something new, even if it is only seen from a creative viewpoint , the satisfaction that comes from constructing or making something new is overwhelming.
Jyotsana Harjai ,winner of the subsidiary title Mrs India Fashion Icon 2019 in her reused restyled outfit at Mrs India 2019.
Jyotsana restyled and reused her wedding gold saree alongwith the camouflage tshirt into a modern outfit , which not only checks textile pollution but also conveys a strong message that beauty lies in one's thoughts and creativity .
Every strand of her new outfit reminds her of her beloved husband. She wore this saree on the auspicious occasion of her first karwa chauth , when her husband and she spanned the difficult terrain of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. It was then , that her husband presented her with this combat t-shirt to team it up with the saree ,as she forgot to carry the original blouse .
To give variety to the fabric she restyled this into a unique combination of tradition and action. The red colour of her outfit signifies the traditional aspect of love and warmth coupled with the olive green of our brave soldiers. She believes that there could not be a befitting combination in the present scenario when Jammu and Kashmir has become a part of our nation. Her outfit is also a reminder to our neighbours that we Indians are loving but bold and courageous at the same time. Texture ,colour , pattern....all come together to give the saree its unique personality.
