General information

We make bespoke handcrafted pieces of furniture using solid hardwoods like Walnut, Maple, Ash & Oak. We also use pine and pitch pine for some furniture as it helps to get a weathered look on softer woods, where requested by the customer. All the furniture items and wood pieces we make are created individually by us in our workshop in Cavan. We generally only make one off items. This keeps them interesting and also extremely individual to our clients. Keep an eye on our page for new furniture and great handcrafted gifts. We also make a selection of outdoor wooden furniture for children, like play kitchens, play shops, play cookers, play bridges etc. If you have a request or a picture of something from a catalogue then just call or message us and we can most likely make it for you. Thanks for visiting!

Knotty - Bespoke Furniture & hardwood accessories

“We need a new coffee table”, my wife said, and it got me thinking...

I started woodworking in my garage a few years ago. At the time it was mainly to make and/or repair furniture we owned, or to up-cycle something that was starting to look old or tired. Working with many different pieces of furniture quickly became an obsession, and over a short period of time I found myself wondering why I was paying for wooden furniture to try and fit a space in our house? Why not just make it myself?

I started simply, making a coffee table a serving board, some candle holders, radiator covers and shelves and even some outdoor mud kitchens for my grandchild’s creche. But I was fast running out of room in my ever bursting one car garage. I had to decide whether to treat this as a hobby or try and make a business out of it.

So I’ve decided, amidst the worlds worst pandemic (COVID19) and all the uncertainty of the economic climate in the mid-term, I have taken the decision to start a new business. I relish the thought to be perfectly honest. If I can get my products out there and there is a niche for them then who’s to say it can’t do great things?
