Established in May 2000 by brothers John, Patrick and Tim Lane, Lane Bros opened their doors at the Horan Centre Tralee. But the history of the Lanes involvement in furniture dates back many years to their grandfather John Lane of Cork. Along with many the other businesses that he operated, John had a bedding company in North Cork called Emdown Bedding where he manufactured quality beds and mattre
sses supplying retail furniture stores throughout the country. As young lads all the brothers had worked during school and summer holidays in the bedding factory learning all the skills of furniture manufacturing but also dealing with retailers and customers alike, learning their requirements. These skills proved invaluable in later years when the lads came together to open their own business, Lane Bros Homestore here in Tralee. After nine years operating the business together Tim Lane took the bold step to go it alone and took over the business in its entirety. Since doing so, Tim has travelled extensively throughout Asia to source the best quality furniture to export back to Ireland. By doing this we are able to retail to our Irish customers quality furniture at unbeatable prices. This theory has stood the test of time as still today Lane Bros Homestore is known far and wide as having the best quality furniture at the best price providing the best for value for money.
