Step into the fascinating world of bees during this immersive one-hour experience set within the beautiful grounds of Cashel Palace, home to carefully managed hives cared for by Galtee
Honey Farm. Guided by beekeeper Aoife Nic Giolla Coda, guests will discover the remarkable story of Ireland’s Native Irish Honey Bee and its vital role in biodiversity, food production, and our shared natural heritage.

This engaging experience explores the rich history of beekeeping in Ireland, ancient traditions surrounding honey and mead, and the importance of protecting pollinators for future generations.

Visitors will learn about the inner workings of a honey bee colony, seasonal life within the hive, and the craft and heritage of modern Irish beekeeping. Along the way, hear stories from life as a working beekeeper managing hives across the Irish countryside and discover how conservation, sustainability, and artisan food production connect at Galtee Honey Farm.
