The educators at The Beehive wish to acknowledge the protests that are taking place, in relation to the Early Childhood Care and Education sector this week.
Over the years we have been involved in advocating for our sector and the amazing work that is evident on a daily basis.
Minister O'Gorman has said "In Ireland we've under-invested in childcare historically, we're playing catch," While we want to acknowledge the funding that has been put in place to date, there is still a long way to go to ensure quality in early years provision and for fair and professional pay for early childhood educators. Bureaucracy, box ticking exercises have risen dramatically and that isn’t where quality comes from. It comes from the heart 🧡. This profession is not attractive as a career anymore. Staff can’t afford to live on the wages and so they apply for jobs as SNA’s and nanny’s with better pay and benefits. We hope instead of using our sector as a means to gain votes from parents, Roderic will follow through with authentic investment in this sector to secure a brighter future for children, their educators, and their families.

I've been asked so many times can I put a real tap on our mud Kitchens. So... from January 2022 (for a little bit extra) I can. You just click your garden hose on to it. Its also very good exercise for those little hands.
