When we first started renovating our little cottage in Donegal, there was so much work ahead of us!

Walls needed changing, ceilings needed opening up, and just about everything needed attention! 🔨🏡

But somewhere along the way, it started becoming more than a renovation. It started feeling like home. 💚

And it got me thinking…

With the wild Donegal weather lately, the darker evenings creeping in, and winter just around the corner, I’ve been thinking about life in our little corner of Glenvar, overlooking beautiful Lough Swilly. 🌊🍁

There’s something special about Donegal, isn’t there? Even when the wind is howling and the rain is coming sideways! 😂☔

He was so excited about something he’d built at our little cottage in Donegal that he just HAD to show me! 😂❤️

And I have to say… I was rather impressed! 👀👏

Now, you all know John’s been a busy man while I’ve been away… but I’m keeping this one a secret for now! 🤫🤣

The clocks went back early this morning, giving us all an extra hour in bed! 😴 Hopefully, you made the most of it!

What a wild and stormy weekend it’s been across Ireland and England! 🌧️💨 I hope everyone has stayed safe, especially those in Ireland who seem to have had the worst of it.

Sending a special thought to all our family, friends, and neighbours in Donegal. 💚 I hope you’re all safe and well, with no damage from the storm.

Imagine waking up every morning to this view… 🌊⛰️

Beautiful? Absolutely. But there’s a little more to life in rural Donegal than pretty scenery! 😂

Wild Atlantic winds, unpredictable weather, narrow country roads and the occasional feeling that you’re living miles from civilisation!

And yet… there’s something about this place that makes you never want to leave. 💚💛
