Finally uploading some snaps of this TV unit I completed with a built in custom soundbar. This was one of those dream briefs where the client gave me full trust to do something creative, I absolutely loved building it from oak and walnut and happy to report the custom one off integrated soundbar absolutely whops it out.

Just finished this hard to photograph hallway unit for a client. It's not often that a client gives you a fully open brief and this was one of those dreamy occasions where I could be creative with the design and integrate some sweeping curves.

I worked closely with my main man Ross at on this one to get the oak batons and steel design looking just right. There will be a light and hooks for jackets installed in time of course.

🔊 New Project 🔊 These hardwood Ash tower speakers are really something! When I set out on a speaker build I'm never quite sure how the dynamics of the design will impact the sound output and quality, and not every experiment is a success. These puppies absolutely don't disappoint though. The moment I pressed play and got instant 'Bass-Face' I knew all the pieces of the puzzle had come together. By far the best speakers I have made to date.

These are for sale if anyone wants em, and come with a bluetooth amp and everything you need to get your own bass face going. Drop me a DM if interested in something custom, honestly a good set of speakers is one of the best investments you can make.

🚼🚨 I have my first little nipper on the way, so what better time to have some fun with some essential bits for the new arrival. This baby changing station is the right height with lots of storage but as she gets older the top comes off and it becomes a regular old chest of drawers for all her toys and clothes! 😁🐝

Hello there! My names David and I run Backwood Studio, on my own (occasionally overseen by my cats) here in Wicklow. Just wanted to say hi and to introduce myself as sometimes you never really know who's behind a thing and a logo isn't very personal is it. I set up Backwood Studio during the first lockdown as it's something I always wanted to do but never found the time, make unique things from really nice materials.

It all sort of snowballed from there really. I'm still quite small and doing it all myself but I love the process and have been lucky to have worked with some really open minded clients and met some wonderful humans along the way who've encouraged me to keep learning and pushing the limits of my skills in new ways. Anyway thats me, I'll go back to turning the camera the other way around and taking pictures of new work again for a bit now.

🤫This table has a little secret🤫 The brief for this one was a challenge, once a year this table needs to sit 14 people, the rest of the year only 8. So I turned to to make a custom 'butterfly leaf' solution. What an amazing piece of engineering, and smooth as silk. Check the video in the comments for what I mean.

Its's a big responsibility designing a family kitchen table, and I really enjoyed the process.

The table top is Black Walnut finished in Rubio Monocoat

Nothing like delivering a new custom piece...... ON A FRIDAY! I particularly like how this client wanted the turntables oriented to 'battle style'. Poured a creamy white resin layer on the top to really make it feel special.

Bog oak is incredible! It's literally pulled out of a peat bog after up to 3000 years of preservation, hence the black colour. Managed to get my hands on some really twisted and knarly bog oak and had to incorporate resin to fill all the cracks so went down the 'river table' route. This coffee table is for sale if anyone wants it DM me, may never make another like it due to the scarcity of the oak!

Meet the 'Slash' speaker. Geometry is key to the design of these floor standing speakers and I've been looking for the right project to use this amazing striped beech material on. The entire speaker is hardwood, even thr ask backing, no mdf! Standing at 60cm high they arent shy about being present in your room.

This pair of speakers have a restrained bass response but in a way thst feels more authentic than the more booming bassy systems. The clarity of the mids and highs is spectacular.
