In 1669 the Bunbury family bought the land at Lisnavagh in County Carlow.

Ten generations later, the gothic revival family home hosts wellness retreats, private weddings, a well being and arts festival, bespoke events, a market garden and cottage rentals Today, Lisnavagh House & Gardens hosts private weddings, parties or celebrations, short term private hire, yoga retreats and bespoke events. The Victorian farmyard is home to a growing number of small businesses including the Lisnavagh Timber Project and the Bunbury Boards.

Curious about growing your own food? 🌱 Join us in our Walled Garden at Lisnavagh for a practical, hands-on workshop with experienced grower Andrew Jordan.

This session is designed to give you a clear, accessible introduction to sowing and planting, with guidance you can take home and apply in your own space (whether that’s a garden, a few raised beds, or even pots!).

You’ll spend the day working directly with the soil, learning by doing, and gaining confidence in the basics of organic growing.

Saturday 13th June in our Walled Garden at Lisnavagh. €65 per person (includes workshop, lunch & a take-home potted plant)

With small group sizes, there’s plenty of opportunity to ask questions, get involved, and learn at your own pace.

Community alert!!! 🤗📣 Friday mornings coffees and walks are returning to Lisnavagh: Starting from tomorrow, our Walled Garden Coffee Shop will be open again every Friday from 9am to 12.30pm.

Drop by for coffee, homemade bakes, and a chance to enjoy the garden as the growing season gets underway. You’ll also be able to pick up fresh seasonal produce, veg boxes, preserves, jams, and other Lisnavagh products straight from the garden and kitchen 🌱👩🏼‍🍳

Whether you’re coming for a quiet morning, meeting friends, or collecting your weekly vegetables, we’re looking forward to welcoming you back to the Walled Garden for another season ✨

Wedding season has begun at Lisnavagh 💫 Over the past weeks we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming the first weddings of the season to the house and grounds, with friends and families gathering to celebrate in the spring sunshine.

It’s been wonderful to see Lisnavagh being enjoyed for such special occasions, a beautiful beginning to the season 🥰 Every wedding brings its own atmosphere and story, and we’re very excited to start sharing a few glimpses of them with you 🤍

We’re delighted to share with you that our Walled Garden Coffee Shop at Lisnavagh will be reopening on Friday mornings (from 9am to 1pm) starting from Friday 29th May ☕🌱

The perfect excuse to take a break during the week and come for a coffee, enjoy homemade treats and spend a little time in the peaceful surroundings of our beautiful Walled Garden.

As the growing season begins, it’s also a wonderful opportunity to pick up your fresh veg boxes and a selection of seasonal products from the garden, including preserves, jams, rosehip creams, and other small-batch treats made here at Lisnavagh 😋

Whether you’re stopping by for a quiet moment, a walk through the gardens, or to stock up on fresh produce, we look forward to welcoming you back 💚

There are certain corners at Lisnavagh truly unique as they invite you to slow down without even trying 💆🏽‍♀️ From these corners the views stretch over the gardens and surrounding landscape, bringing the outside gently into the house.

That's why these quiet spots beside the windows are our favourite places to sit with a coffee, read a few pages of a book, or simply look out across the grounds as the light changes throughout the day 😍

Playing the music you want to hear! 🎻Come and join us on Sunday 17 May to Brass Fusion, an ensemble of experienced and talented players who bring fun and innovation to the world of brass music.

Brass Fusion offers a varied and enjoyable repertoire from dance music, through jazz and blues, to the classics. Whatever music you choose, Brass Fusion is guaranteed to make your event go with a swing. In addition to the 12-piece ensemble they can offer BF5+ a quintet plus percussion.

It has entertained audiences across the south of England at corporate events, weddings, concerts, dances, garden parties, fetes, bandstands and outdoor prom nights. Available for those more intimate events or just where space is an issue, the quality of performance remains the same high level.

Whatever your requirement they are sure to be able to provide music to your liking 🎶

Bring a picnic and enjoy snacks/drinks/beverages from our pop up cafe. Take this opportunity to walk around Lisnavagh gardens and woodlands. Dogs welcome on a lead and leave no trace applies to pets and humans!

We are happy to share with you that we will be holding another Inipi Ceremony on Sunday, 17 May with Oscar & Yaneli! This Native American Sweatlodge is a sacred and ancient tradition that offers a profound and transformative healing experience. In a rustic dome that symbolizes the womb of Mother Earth, participants gather to purify their bodies and souls through a ritualistic combination of intense heat, aromatic and medicinal herbs, drumming, and spiritual chants.

The rising steam from the volcanic rocks carries the medicine of the four elements: earth, wind, water, and fire. These will purify our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. The Inipi represents a spiritual journey, a holistic healing process, and a deeply rooted cultural heritage.

In the depths of our beings, we recognise the power and wisdom that flows through our veins. Carried through centuries, these ceremonies connect us to ancestral practices that guide us toward a deeper understanding of our divine connection to the earth, the cosmos, and each other.

This sacred ceremony grants us a unique opportunity to honor and embrace the profound teachings of the Native American ways and apply the teachings to our own journey.

Held by Oscar and Yaneli, wisdom keepers from Mexico, this sweatlodge is a space where we can greatly benefit, by healing and expanding awareness. May the echoes of our prayers reverberate through time and space, uniting our hearts in a pure intention ❤️

Last Sunday, we had the pleasure of hosting a very special celebration at Lisnavagh: Maria’s 90th birthday 🎂 It was a lovely afternoon tea gathering, filled with warmth and a real sense of occasion.

Family came together to celebrate Maria in a joyful reunion that made the day memorable! ✨ Everyone really enjoyed the homemade sweets and savouries and the beautiful surroundings. The whole afternoon took place in a relaxed and easy way.

In one of Maria’s daughters' words “Thank you for putting on such a wonderful tea yesterday. Everyone really enjoyed the food and the beautiful environment and it all felt very relaxed. Your staff were particularly lovely and thoughtful and please extend our thanks to them too. My Mum (and all of us!) were so happy to get the chance to see so many of her cousins all together!".
