June Blake's Garden

June Blake's Garden June Blake's Garden June Blake's garden extends over three acres and contains an ecletic collection of plants from around the world.

There are acres of exciting bold herbaceous borders, shade areas with beautiful ferns, woodland plants and bamboos, a shallow linear reflection pool, formal beds and a small nursery with many of these plants for sale. June's beautiful restored Victorian Steward's house forms the perfect backdrop to this amazing garden.

As many of you already know we lost a dear friend to our family this week, Pat Byrne. Niamh & I were only kids when he started working on the farm, but the friendship made continued long after he left here to set up his own business. Plus he never really left - and was always game for any of June's plans! A mountain of a man with an even bigger heart, we will all miss him very much. We hope you get to enjoy your farm in the sky Pat πŸ’š

Thinking of Lorraine, Danny, Charlie, Ava, Ben, Eamonn and all his family and good friends who have been by his side throughout this time.

Pat will be reposing at Clarke's Funeral home in Blessington tonight (5pm-8pm). Funeral tomorrow St Joseph's Church Valleymount on Saturday 10.30am.

Thank you to our tours this week for your flexibility and understanding, and to James, Jimi and Marina for stepping in.

We met Dermot from Dermot Allen recently when he came to feed everyone at a recent CRAICLY STORIES event here. An absolute gentleman, it was a pleasure to hear all about his pigs and to see the respect he has for his animals. And now... four of his ladies have come for a little visit to us here - Gertrude, Clare, Ruby and Peggy Sue. 3 are Oxford Sandy and Blacks, and Peggy Sue is a Large White (which although we thought is the most common, is a breed that is becoming quite rare).

Some of their children may join at a later stage, but for now they are four ladies who we hope enjoy their stay here. They like their privacy so while you might see glimpses of them in the field, they will be happier keeping themselves to themselves!
