A very true saying , tidy up opposite Coláiste Muire entrance finished before ten this morning, now if only it would stay this litter free . A few ferns planted to add interest for when the wild flowers die back in this shaded dry spot

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our Ballymote Bat Walk as part of National Biodiversity Week. It was great to see such a fantastic turnout and so much interest in the amazing bat species found around Ballymote. 🦇

A special thank you to Ruth Hanniffy, Sligo County Council Biodiversity Officer, and Dr David Clarke of Bat Conservation Ireland for hosting the event and sharing so much fascinating information about bats in Ireland, their ecology, behaviour and the important role they play in our environment.

Thanks also to everyone who joined us on the night and helped make it such an enjoyable and informative event. 🌙

A great afternoon at the Local Authority Waters Programme Water Safari in Ballymote Town Park as part of National Biodiversity Week 2026.

A big thank you to Luke and Alice from LAWPRO for carrying out water quality assessments and giving a really interesting insight into the importance of protecting our local streams and rivers. It was fantastic to see people getting the chance to explore aquatic life up close and learn how freshwater species can tell us so much about water quality and ecosystem health.

The ladies at our Saturday Stitchers have donated these beautiful handknits to Team Hope's Christmas Shoebox Appeal (Team Hope) 🧶🧵🪡

Presently Ballymote Saturday Stitchers are looking for volunteers to help with sorting the boxes and getting them ready for dispatch. The hours are 10am - 1pm, 2pm - 6pm & 7pm - 9.30pm from Monday to Saturday. 🎁
