Tell us if you have observed this behaviour of an evening?

Have you noticed birds swooping and soaring in the evening sky lately?

That’s not just a show - it’s practice. Swallows, swifts and house martins are preparing for their long migration journey south as summer draws to a close.

These iconic birds, who’ve graced our skies and gardens are getting ready to head thousands of kilometres to warmer climates.

You might see groups of them gathering and performing aerial acrobatics - a sign their departure is near.

They’re also eating all around them before they head off, building up fat reserves for the journey ahead.

If you see them in your area, take a moment to watch. It’s one of the last chances you’ll have this year.
