After many wonderful years serving the town and local community on both sides of the Suck here in Ballinasloe, the time has come to draw the curtain down and leave the stage.
The store at Peter Madden Fuels will be closing its doors on the 25th of April.
While we are sad to be departing, we are happy to tell you the good news that Colm Colohan at Colohans Topline Hardware is taking on the business and will continue on supplying you all with Calor Gas and top class solid fuels at their premises.
We wish Colm and family the very best of luck in the future.
From us we say a heartfelt thank you to all our loyal customers, friends, neighbours, and suppliers for your incredible support and friendship over the years. It’s been an absolute pleasure to serve this town & community. It's been a privilege to get to know so many of you, with many friendships made and memories that will stay with us forever.
So personally, while it’s the end of an era, I’ll always be grateful for those memories, the friendships, and the strong sense of community that came with running the store at Hobsons Lane. That community spirit came to the fore in rough times such as the floods. The meitheal kicked in automatically with customers and friends alike rallying to literally keep things afloat. A very stressful time but it makes me feel proud looking back. Together we built things up again. I am thankful to every person who’s been part of the journey, especially those that have parted this world and are no longer with us. They are always in our hearts.
To my family, thank you for all your help, patience and support through it all. Especially to my father Anthony, on whose shoulders I stood, had the honour to work alongside and allowed me make a living this past 15 years, thank you it couldn't have happened without you.
Finally thank you to the staff, past and present, Pat, Paul, Tony (RIP), Marty G & Joe for making everyday a little bit easier through all weathers in a tough job.
