Our Story

GAURI, established in 1997 and located in Central Java, Indonesia, quickly established a reputation as a manufacture of stylish modern furniture with eclectic design. GAURI flexibility has always allowed to fulfill a number of different customer needs from custom designs (private and commercial) to providing furniture from its own extensive collections’ range. GAURI view its production facility not as a "factory" but as a high quality "laboratorio di falegnameria" (Italian for "carpenters workshop") where tradition and passion for furniture is in the air. Management and skilled craftsmen/women pursue work together to ensure the best results.

SUSTAINABILITY - At Gauri we are very concerned for the environment and all issues related to illegal logging. In our production we only use solid wood that we source from legal plantations (controlled by Government) or, if recycled, from demolition sites with clear source traceability. Even the wood waste after raw material processing is recycled for various purposes such as small items for internal use, combustible for lumber drying process.

MATERIAL AND FINISHES - Depending on customer request and price range we manufacture our furniture with different kinds of wood. We mainly use TEAK and MINDI. MINDI is a very nice but wrongly underestimated timber. Its scientific name is Melia azedarach, but is more commonly known as White Cedar or Chinaberry. A number of different varieties of medium-hard recycled wood are also available although in limited quantity.
