Fascinating art deco sculpture made from mango wood. This piece was created by deploying termites onto the relatively soft mango wood, letting them go to work, and then finishing it with a white coral doff varnish. The base is made from suar wood. 60cm x 55cm x 30cm.

Indonesian petrified dipterocarpus wood coffee table and accessories. Over a period of approximately 20 million years, fallen trees are covered in volcanic ash and turn into stone. Slowly, the minerals present in the ash seep into the wood through water and replace the flesh of the tree. Cutting, shaping, and then polishing the petrified wood after unearthing it can reveal brilliant colors based on the minerals present in the environment. Judging the color and texture of this table, it looks to be a combination of a quartz and chalcedony fossil, with iron, copper, chromium, and carbon minerals combining to make the blue, brown, black, and white color patterns you see. Steel legs, 154cm x 66cm x 5cm, 110kg. Fish: 45cm x 10cm x 16cm, 6.5kg. Bowl: 31cm x 28cm x 4cm.

Reclaimed teak wood bedside table. We were immediately drawn to this modern style piece because of its wonderfully angled slat pattern on its drawers. The recycled teak wood was sourced from a Balinese home's support beams. 60cm x 42cmx 40cm.

Wonderful carving of Dewi Nawang Wulan, a beautiful angel who became a mortal after a man named Jaka Tarub stole her magic shawl. Without it she could not fly back to heaven. She married Jaka, had a daughter, and lived a life blessed by magical abilities. After finding her shawl and exposing her husbands deceit, she returned to heaven yet continued to care for her child as a guardian angel. Made from suar wood, 110cm x 35cm x 25cm.

Fantastic Balinese Legong dancer. We found this treasure inside the private collection of a retired wood carver, but he is now looking to find her a new home. The mythos surrounding Legong dance is that it originated as royal entertainment in the early 19th century as a result of a prince's dream; where he envisioned two young women dancing to gamelan music. The tradition permeates Balinese culture to this day and dancers begin rigorous training at a very young age. Teak wood, 90cm tall.
