Its getting closer...

In just over 19 weeks or 134 days time, the second Minangkabau Silek Retreat will hit the streets of Padang Panjang, West Sumatra.

There is still plenty of time to be a part of this incredible martial arts adventure. The event will feature no less than six new, unseen in the west, styles of Minangkabau Silek in the form of workshops as well as sessions from last years teachers in the styles of Silek Tuo Pagu Pagu, Silek Paninjuan & Silek Langkah Ampek.

All of these workshops are totally FREE as are airport transfers and food (residents outside of Sumatra). You just pay for your flights (booking early means its usually cheaper) and accommodation (we have hotel partners in Padang Panjang), all of which we can advise on.

Come and have perhaps a once in a lifetime experience, be exposed to an ancient and yet dynamic culture and its majestic martial arts and make new friends and of course memories.

The Minangkabau Silek Retreat now has a schedule, which I have posted here. It gives you an idea of what the week will entail. We are still finalizing teachers but there will be 6 workshops of unique Minangkabau silek styles, over 3 days as well as training with teachers from 2017 retreat, each who have specific styles.

All in all, it is shaping up to what we know will be an amazing week of training, adventure, and camaraderie.

We are still over 5 months out, however, a trip like this needs to be planned well and flights during the tail of summer are still best booked ahead of time in order to get best prices.
