The Plydesign KORVET chairs (.design) and MEANDER bookends (Adam Miklosi Studio) were featured in the photoshoot for the AGNESKOVACS Passage collection — forming a visual setting where the two brands' credo connects naturally.

The shoot featured Kovács Patrícia and Rujder Vivien, embodying the intergenerational dialogue that lies at the core of the Passage collection.

The resulting series can be understood as a shared visual and conceptual space — where furniture and accessories, heritage and innovation, tradition and renewal complement one another in a coherent and value-driven dialogue.

Have you ever wondered how plywood is made?

This film, created for the Victoria and Albert Museum's 2017 exhibition Plywood: Material of the Modern World, presents the key stages of production in the mid-20th century and today. While the core process has remained largely unchanged, technology has made it faster and more precise.

At Plydesign, we work exclusively with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) -certified wood — sourced from responsibly managed forests, where both environmental regeneration and fair working conditions are essential.

At the OTTHONDesign exhibition, on the Magyar Design stand, Viaplant and Plydesign present a shared space that reveals not only an aesthetic but also a structural connection.

The table legs are built on Plydesign’s molded plywood construction — the same formal logic appears across both tables and chairs. Viaplant uses this structural foundation to use plant components in a new context: encapsulated in glass, they take the form of tabletops, both natural and object-like. The installation forms a coherent system where material, structure, and plants operate together.

Alongside the Plydesign × Viaplant tables, the Flonder lamp by Viaplant also debuts, and next to the MEANDER bookend, further chef-d'œuvres by talented Hungarian designers are on display.

On the final day of the exhibition, our showroom chairs are available at 50% off.
Collection is possible on Sunday (03.29) at the venue, or later at our Budapest studio by prior arrangement.

Inspired by Scandinavian and Italian design cities, a similar idea is slowly gaining ground here: design should return to the streets — to the city, to people, to everyday life.

Beyond museums and elegant “white cube” exhibitions, high-quality design can also live in neighbourhood spaces, markets and places where people simply stop by to talk, browse and discover objects.

Because design ultimately connects.

Before we think about materials or technology, the body already senses comfort. The FRIGATE chair was designed around this immediate perception: a sculpted plywood shell and backrest that naturally support the lower back, while gently bent edges prevent pressure on the back and thighs.

Only afterwards does the construction behind the experience reveal itself — a combination of advanced 3D veneer technology and traditional molded plywood craftsmanship.
