So in this post trilogy focused on "ideas that I discovered during my travels"🌎🌍🌏, this second one is about *composters for the city dweller*.

While some city zero wasters freeze❄️ their scraps or liquefy them in a Bokashi bucket (❗packaged enzymes required) before donating them to their local gardening club to be composted, here are 6 composting alternatives worth considering. Scroll left for visuals!

The VermiGo: From Slovakia🇸🇰, this stainless system has a composter section in the back which feeds plants on the front, and dispenses compost tea at the bottom! It's a composter and a vertical planter in one. Ingenious, durable and efficient ❤️
The Khamba: Made in India🇮🇳 and from terracotta it's a three tier system that is simple, affordable, and beautiful, no? ❤️.
The Vermi-stool: You could have your whole dining room surrounded with these worm composters! Made in Austria🇦🇹 by .at ❤️ (linked in my profile under product recommendations).
The Vermi-commode: as seen in Chile🇨🇱 and made from recycled materials, you could place it in your bedroom... no one would ever know it's a worm composter!❤️.
The electrical composter: I have seen a few versions of these including one in France🇫🇷, it requires energy and is quite costly, but it's the most compact and the fastest of systems ❤️ (also linked in product recommendations).
The wall receptacle for city composting: I loved the low profile compost receptacles on the streets of Barcelona, Spain🇪🇸 It does not take any sidewalk space because it's in walls! I wish all cities did this!❤️.
