Some artists capture a place. Louise Hill captures its soul. From the very first piece we ever sold, her work has been the heartbeat of our little shop. Back then, we were just starting out - but we knew, even then, that her art was something rare. She was our One from Day 1.
What inspires her? The city itself. She walks the city and falls in love, over and over again - with the grit, the glow, the beautiful mess of it all. She sees poetry in the clutter, romance in the chaos.
And that love? It pours into every layer of her work. She sketches by hand, photographs the ordinary, then weaves it all together in her own unique style of multilayered imagery. Weeks, sometimes months, for one piece. Because she refuses to rush a love letter to the city she sets her heart on.
That’s why her art still flies off our walls, over 10 years later. Because when you hang a Louise Hill artwork on your wall, you’re not buying a print.
