*Social Media Balance*
We must admit that the convenience of the latest high technologies allows us to check every update from all over the world instantly;
however, this has become a kind of addiction that has not only resulted in our brains not getting enough rest, but worse, has brought us unsettled behaviour and unwelcome attitude, as it exercises a sinister stranglehold on our attention and threatens even our health.
We feel busy most of the time, everyday, not because we have too many tasks on hand, but because our senses are constantly being assaulted by non-stop messages, notifications and information on our social media platforms.
Eventually, as a result of this constant barrage, we are unable to put our phone down or disconnect our computer for even a single moment. It has also resulted in our unhealthy inability to communicate with other people face to face; this digital, 24/7 need-to-stay- connected obsession damages our real life and impairs our daily functions.
Hence, we all, individually and collectively, have to make the decision regarding our mental and physical health balance, with a view ultimately to take back control of our lives and become human again, responsive to others and not just the online machine.
