Introducing the “Ghost in the Shell” special chrome edition chair series by — now on exhibition at NUOVO Hong Kong showroom.

Crafted from sponge pipes and nylon rope knotted onto a frame and coated in multiple layers of polyurethane, the chairs turn rigid industrial materials into soft, tactile, oversized knit-like forms. What starts artificial evolves into something organic — blurring craft, seating and sculpture.

The chrome edition adds a striking metallic sheen, creating a bold industrial contrast to the plush, hand-knotted surfaces. Inspired by the anime film Ghost in the Shell, the series explores evolution, consciousness, and the organic emergence of man-made worlds.

In preparation for our Timeless exhibition, scheduled for Friday, October 6th, NUOVO will be showcasing a few representative pieces from leading Italian industrial design brand, Zanotta (). This will include the Calamobio chest of drawers from Edizioni’s furniture series, Superstudio’s Quaderna 656 coffee table, Calvi Brambilla’s Bumper sofa, legendary architect and designer Carlo Mollino’s Arabesco table, Gilda chair and Ardea chair, as well as new products such as the Bol table designed by Zaven and the stackable chair by Mist-o. Guests will undoubtedly learn more about the stories behind the designs and gain a deeper understanding of Zanotta’s creative world through the presentation of Zanotta’s export manager, Marco ven Velsen.
