In October 2020, on the remote island of Lesvos in Greece, in the most mountainous village of the island, an idea was born for a new ecological material, called “koukoutsi”.

Dear friends and partners,

The Embassy of Greece in Copenhagen is pleased to invite you to a special exhibition presented during this year’s 3daysofdesign festival by the Greek design studio Koukos de Lab.

From 10–12 June 2026, the Embassy will host an immersive exhibition exploring contemporary Greek design, sustainability, and material innovation through the work of Koukos de Lab — a material-driven studio based on the island of Lesvos, Greece.

At the core of the exhibition is Koukoutsi, an eco-material developed from the final waste of olive oil production, primarily olive pits and olive cores. Through furniture and objects created with this innovative material, the exhibition reflects this year’s 3daysofdesign theme, “Make This Moment Matter,” inviting visitors to pause, reflect, and engage with more conscious approaches to design and materiality.

The exhibition transforms the Embassy into a temporary showroom and meeting point where Greek craftsmanship, circular design, and contemporary aesthetics come together in dialogue with the international design community.

Exhibition Details
Dates: 10–12 June 2026 (10.00-18.00)
Location: Greek Embassy in Copenhagen
Hammerensgade 4, 1267 København K

We would be delighted to welcome you to experience this unique presentation and celebrate Greek creativity and innovation during one of Denmark’s most important international design events.

Udstillingsdetaljer
Datoer: 10.–12. juni 2026 (10.00-18.00)
Sted: Den Græske Ambassade i København
Hammerensgade 4, 1267 København K

Det vil glæde os meget at byde Dem velkommen til at opleve denne unikke præsentation og fejre græsk kreativitet og innovation under et af Danmarks vigtigste internationale designarrangementer.

We’re excited to announce that Koukos de Lab will be part of 3daysofdesign 🇩🇰

From June 10–12, we will transform the Greek Embassy in Copenhagen into an immersive exhibition space presenting furniture and objects made from Koukoutsi — our eco-material developed from the final waste of olive oil production, primarily olive pits and cores. 🌿

Rooted in Lesvos, Greece, our work explores how agricultural by-products can be transformed into meaningful and tactile design pieces through research, experimentation, and local production.

Inspired by this year’s theme, “Make This Moment Matter,” the exhibition invites visitors to pause, engage, and rethink their relationship with materials, sustainability, and conscious design.

Presenting our work inside the Greek Embassy feels deeply personal to us — bringing a piece of our land and identity into an international context.

If you are visiting Copenhagen during the festival, we would love to welcome you.

Nestis — a daybed for stopping.

From the Greek νέστης, one who returns to calm, it sits low and contained — a deliberate pause in form and proportion. Koukoutsi meets oak with quiet restraint, while linen softens the line.

Created with Koukos de Lab and Kimisoo, Nestis is part of a limited collection where material, form, and meaning come into balance — shaping spaces for stillness and return.

Koukos de Lab x Kimisoo

A limited collection rooted in form, material and meaning.

Hédra — a chair that holds position.

From the Greek ἕδρα, the name suggests sitting as a considered act. Its geometry is quiet yet unapologetic — a balance of weight, form, and material honesty.
Created in collaboration between Koukos de Lab and Kimisoo, Hédra is part of a limited collection rooted in form, material, and meaning. On Lesvos, spent olive pits are pressed and finished into Koukoutsi — a warm, stone-like surface that defines the seat.
Together with a daybed and a lamp, the collection reflects two practices in sync, sharing a belief that design should cultivate spaces of calm, beauty, and purpose.
