Very proud of our restoration of the Waterloo bookstall now installed at station hall York

Weโ€™re feeling a little nostalgic - and incredibly proud! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿš‰

A big thank you to the National Railway Museum for beautifully restoring and displaying one of our original WHSmith station bookstalls.

Once a familiar sight on the platform at Waterloo Station, the stall is located within Station Hall, a newly restored, refurbished and reimagined space celebrating the unique life and history of Britainโ€™s train stations.

This little kiosk had a big purpose, serving countless travellers over the years, offering a book, a paper, or a momentโ€™s escape between journeys. We're thrilled itโ€™s now part of something so special, helping to bring this piece of railway - and WHSmith - history to life for new generations to enjoy.

If you're heading to York, make sure to stop by for some loco-motively good fun!

A very long story, this cabinet came to us over 45 years ago for restoration, work was not started pending decision of client. We eventually acquired the piece and have been able to restore it to a new clients taste with linen fold panels and a grey marble top, just goes to show never give up on the projects.

Just completed and delivered to our delighted new clients this very large metamorphic dining table in the manner of Robert Jupe, the table has 6 extension leaves that clip onto the 6โ€™ diameter top extending it to 8โ€™ overall, the pedestal is in truncated pyramid form on claw feet, the decoration of ebony stars and cross banding is highlighted by solid brass inlay stringing, our restoration included relaying inlays consolidation of shrinkage rectifying water damage and polishing retaining aged patina. Thanks to optimum brasses for the replacement clips.
