Did you know education doesn't have to end when children leave the classroom?
Children can learn a lot whilst being outside but how can this be enhanced?
1. Have reading time outside - allowing children to read whilst having some fresh air is a great choice for the warmer months. Our Story Telling chair is a great addition for any school looking at taking story time outside.
2. Install outdoor musical instruments - children love making noise and experimenting with musical instruments, so why not incorporate it into outdoor play?
3. Introduce natural elements into play - it's important that children learn about the world and the elements within it. Play equipment such as sand pits, mud kitchens and water play stations, gives children the freedom to explore whilst learning.
4. Roleplay is a common and vital part of children's play. It helps build creativity and social skills as they play pretend. Having equipment outside of the classroom encourages children to take part in different types of roleplay, potentially building confidence - especially in children who may be more shy among classrooms.
5. Encourage children to create their own adventures - trim trails are perfect for this. Not only do children develop physical agility and strength, they build on problem solving and team work as they adventure from one end of the trail to the other.
