I’m not a fan of painting the inside of vintage or antique furniture. There should always be some part of the piece left untouched, to be able to continue telling its story.

But this cabinet wasn’t an antique and my Client loved my signature red interior, so that’s what we did. ❤️

I made this 7ft long mid century modern sideboard last year and it was one of the most gorgeous pieces I’ve ever created. The photos simply cannot show the textured, cracked metallic gold finish on the whole sideboard.

But, what I love about this piece even more that my Client told me yesterday that he loves it just as much as he did when he received it a year and a half ago.

Over the last 11 years of Studio 27 I created hundreds of pieces with my own two hands and I still have to pinch myself that my Clients adore their furniture. 💓

This summer has been a massive challenge. I moved to a new, much smaller unit and the heat is not kind to my new place.
Paints, glues and lacquers need to be a very specific temperature to work and that has been impossible for the last 2 months beyond a couple of hours a day. So things have slowed down way more than I like.
Cooler weather seems to be on its way and I can’t wait to show you the units I’ve been working on - alligator desk, a huge cabinet, my beloved Librenza, and a few medium sized pieces.
