Important Notice:- for purposes of those seeing this post on Facebook (ignore for Insta viewers) this is our final post to our original Fifi’s Fancy Furniture page as we no longer have access to it. We will be creating a new Fifi’s Fancy Furniture page VERSION 2 so please look out for that and like and follow us there. They say you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear and I would generally agree but when this decorative little console came my way I just had to do something to see if I could rescue it!
Previously very badly painted by someone else (more like the paint had been put on using a trowel) and heavily waxed in thick gunky wax I have done what I can without stripping it completely which would be too time consuming.
So I’ve removed the wax, sanded the thick paint back to heavily distress it, re-waxed it with the gorgeous Frenchic Browning wax and then picked out all the detailing using the Frensheen “Gorgeous Gold” mixed with Browning wax to form a gilding type of wax.
It’s definitely way better than it was when I picked it up and I think would look great in a hallway or bathroom with loads of green ferns on it!!

It’s always lovely to make sales but sometimes it’s a bit sad too.
I loved this bold picture so I’m hoping the new owners will enjoy it as much as I have.

Spaces to fill there now so will be visiting tomorrow morning to restock and enjoy one of their fabulous breakfasts in the cafe!!
