It’s been a hot few days. The frogs are always in the pond, the strawberries are ripening and even the cat is laying in the shade. And of course I washed several loads of laundry and a good chunk of Lleyn fleece for spinning. 🐑 🐈‍⬛ 🐸 🍓 I am quite content with the cooler forecast for the next week.

They are done! Cast on 56 stitches, 90 rounds for the leg, heel flap and gusset, 96 rounds for the foot and then toe decreases. That’s a lot of stitches, but I am glad I made them.

Today I finished another pair of socks for my little one. Well, I finished them two days ago, wove all the ends in, put them on top of one another to see how lovely they are and… they didn’t match. It turns out I made one foot five rows shorter than another, so I had to unpick, unravel, re-knit, re-weave the ends. It is done and I am very pleased with them.

The family of solid colours on sock minis has grown to eight shades. I will be working on more soon, but at the moment I am so happy with these … thank you if you helped me name some, I am aiming to give them simple one word names that link to the colour they are. When I moved to the UK, I imagined a world full of cream teas and seaside walks and garden centres. However, most of the time it’s work, mortgage and bins.
