I am slowly transitioning my 10g pick and mix to the BFL nylon base. These micro skeins are intended for socks and so far the BFL nylon base is the sturdiest and most durable one I have for socks. At the moment, it is a beautiful mix of both. Of course, I will be bringing the LOT to unravel… a festival of yarn this weekend, where you will be able to make your own unique set or an advent calendar! 🥰🧶🧵

Knitting is just physics and pooling is maths… Fascinating but not something I would work out beforehand. Can you even? I love pooling and I expected it as I am decreasing for the gusset, but am not sure how I feel about a big white patch. Any other colour, sure. I am going to see where this takes me and I am curious whether the second sock will pool in the same way.

Here is your friendly and gently reminder that if you put non-superwash socks into the washing machine, they will FELT, SHRINK and come back to haunt you. The yarn is still reclaimable, which is what I am doing now, hoping not to be a dum-dum next time🤦🏼‍♀️

I have been looking into making my shop, yarn sourcing, yarn dyeing and general knitting habits more sustainable lately. It turns out - it is not a simple matter! Tayler explains what it all contains and also posts some snippets of footage from actual industrial textile recycling facilities (which are in no way glamorous) - it's worth watching just for that.

Yarn bowls are overrated! Most of knitting paraphernalia (bags, stitch markers, needle organisers…) are sometimes nice to have, but as long as you have yarn and needles, you have everything you need.
No lilies were harmed in the process as this is a centre-pull ball and didn’t move around at all. It just needed a place to calmly BE. 🧶 🪴 🌸

A few snippets from yesterdays labelling of 100% superwash Merino DK miniskeins! It’s a new base for the shop, after a lot of you have been asking for DK! I have three colourways at the moment and will work on dyeing more during August, including the solid colours I have been working on. So if you fancy some solid DK for colourwork, keep watching this space 🙃🙂😉

This is my contribution to this year’s .There are you to 20 different sock yarn scraps blended together through helical knitting. It was a playful and therapeutic knit, perfect for a summer project.
